About Cara
I see the whole child — unique, with endless possibilities and potential.
My story
I hold a Master's degree in Educational Therapy from California State University, Northridge, and I am based in Los Angeles. I work with children not just on reading and literacy, but on the full picture — executive functioning, learning differences, and the confidence that comes from truly understanding how they learn. Every session is built around your child.
I became an educational therapist because I've seen firsthand how a child's relationship with reading shapes everything — their confidence, their curiosity, their sense of self.
I'm trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, multi-sensory method that's backed by decades of research and proven to work for struggling readers, including those with dyslexia and other learning differences.
But I also know that reading doesn't happen in a vacuum. That's why I support the whole educational experience — from executive functioning and organization skills to the social-emotional growth that makes learning feel safe and possible.

My philosophy
Every child has a learning story. My job is to help them write a better one.
I believe learning is deeply personal. I take time to understand each child — how they think, what lights them up, where they get stuck — before we ever open a book. Sessions are structured and evidence-based, but they're also warm, encouraging, and tailored to the individual. Progress happens when children feel safe, seen, and supported.
